The UWSFC is first and foremost a group of students concerned about the environmental, social, economic and health impacts of our agro-food system. UWSFC members are a diverse group of students from a wide variety of disciplines who’ve come together because we share a passion for improving our own health and the health of our planet.
They are an organization of their student union, that collectively runs a bulk buying club and catering service, as well as host many educational events. The future vision of the UWSFC involves a student-operated food cart serving local, sustainable, and ethical food and drink. This space will not only operate as a resource supplying affordable food to the community, but will also provide students with an educational resource. “The cart is integral to our goals of empowering members of our campus and wider community with greater control over their food systems,” says the team.
