Long Distance Neighbor Making:
sometimes other coops can feel far away, especially on a big ol' coast...To help us feel like neighbors we will be bringing a banner with us for all our friends to decorate and build together (b/c we are bldg. this movement together)!. We will also be bringing a round robin zine to share through, and playlists of music from other coops to inspire us in our creative pursuits and to jam out/dance to!
We're offering workshops on:
-making movements visible: student coop case studies
-getting to yes: consensus decision-making for everyone
-finding way forward: non-hierarchical facilitation training
-creating a shared vision
-claiming our narratives: storytelling for community building
Please get in touch if there’s something not listed that your group might find useful and we can figure out customizing a workshop or training and/or drawing on other resources! We’re also jazzed to have conversations about food business financials, do operational analysis with your coop, problem-solve/think out loud about where you’re at and break bread together.
to fund this road trip and to build relationships with and between the wonderful groups in the region, we knead some financial help. we are asking for an honorarium of $300 sliding scale down to 150. If your group wants to join CoFED as a member group, at least the first $100 will go to your Membership (more if you specify). Contributions help us get to schools who lack campus support, or whose cooperatives are just on the rise. We are more than happy to work with you on figuring out how to raise some dough or acquire it from your school, both for this and future projects!
