DTE is comprised of a group of students who value healthy, locally-produced and naturally-grown food, and democracy and respect for human rights in our food system. The co-op aims to provide healthy meals made with local and organic ingredients to students while helping them develop valuable skills such as cooking, farming, and leadership. We hold twice a week dinner nights for about 80 members as well as open community dinners. We work closely with local farms, the community grocer co-op, and the Newark Bike Project.  We also do catering gigs and have begun to add a CSA component in the summers. Our hope is to find a permanent location for the co-op and to continue to empower, educate and eat together!
