CoFED staff regularly organize events like convergences, coop tours, and skillsharing conference calls. If you are a student-run food coop and want to promote your team's events or just let the network know about the awesome stuff you're up to, email the deets to Anna@cofed.org, and she will add it to the events calendar too.
This conference is hosted yearly by the California Center for Cooperative Development. The keynote speaker is Jessica Gordon Nembhard, author of Collective Courage: A History of African American Cooperative Economic Thought and Practice. This year, the Cooperative Youth Council and CoFED are co-hosting a youth caucus and hope to get as many youth cooperators there!

CoFED's Summer Institute is a week-long intensive, designed to equip teams with the tools and training necessary to start work towards a community-based food solution in or around their campus. This program will be open to idea stage start-ups through existing co-ops seeking to refine or scale-up, and will create a supportive community to learn in and build cooperatives together!
The Summer Institute will take place in Oakland, California, and prioritize the availability of the selected cohort. Currently we are looking at either July 4-12th or July 15-23rd. Dates will be confirmed alongside with selected teams by April.
To apply, please fill out our application: http://bit.ly/13zdTM6. Projects in all stages of development are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is March 20th. We will accept applicants on a rolling basis and applying early is encouraged. All teams accepted into the program will be notified by April 15th.
